Ryson Multiple Entry Spiral Conveyors at Impressive Distribution Warehouse

A new 220,000 sq ft addition to the Gildan Activewear’s Eden North Carolina Distribution Warehouse houses a ten-aisle, five-level order picking system.

Ryson Tall Multiple Entry Spiral Conveyor at a Distribution Warehouse Each aisle is equipped with a 34 foot tall Ryson High Capacity Multiple Entry Spiral Conveyor. Each Vertical Spiral Elevator has four intermediate induction conveyors enabling entry from the four elevated picking levels. This new modern facility will greatly improve Gildan’s order picking operation and leave plenty of space for growth.

These high capacity spiral conveyors have 24″ wide slats and operate at 120 fpm. The heavy duty one-inch chain easily handles the load requirements. Only one drive motor is required, resulting in savings in energy, controls and system integration. The outside diameter of the spiral conveyors are 7′ – 10″ and all ten spirals were delivered fully assembled and ready to run.

A special thanks goes to Gildan for being so accommodating and allowing us to document their impressive Distribution Warehouse operation. Visit www.ryson.com to learn more about the Multiple Entry Spiral Conveyors. Download a PDF brochure here.
