Multiple Entry Spiral Conveyor Saves Space

Irving Tissue recently put into operation a Ryson Multiple Entry Spiral Conveyor in a new production line. This high capacity spiral is equipped with 24″ slats. The in-feed is at 2′-0″ and the out-feed is at 24′-8″. What makes this application interesting is that the second infeed is on the floor level, allowing two production lines to use the same spiral. This results in substantial space and cost savings. View the short clip below.

The high speed induction conveyor provides controlled spiral conveyor entry. The conveyor belts are individually adjustable to match the spiral pitch, ensuring smooth entry into the spiral lift. Traffic controls are required to prevent loads entering from different levels colliding in the spiral.
