High Speed Spiral Conveyor at a Bottling Plant

High Speed Spiral Conveyor in a Bottling Plant

This high speed spiral was recently installed in a filling line handling sports drinks. Our Integrator partner, Sentry Equipment, specified the Narrow Trak model 1700-150 unit to decline filled PET bottles on our 6” wide interlocking slat design at a rate of 525 per minute. The spiral, running at 180 FPM, provided an elevation change of 9 feet (16 ft. to 5 ft.).

Access to the installation area was limited to a 60” wide aisle, so the spiral was shipped in four sections. After it was delivered, it was spliced back together with the assistance of our service technician. He also provided start-up service and training assistance to their maintenance staff. Special considerations, like shipping a spiral in sections to address egress issues is very effective because of Ryson’s proprietary modular design.

This spiral is our new washdown-duty hybrid stainless steel construction with solid lube bearings and Nema 4X pre-wired controls, allowing the plant to clean the machine with detergents and high temperature water.

The Narrow Trak Spirals offer a significantly larger elevation change capacity than what is currently available in the small package marketplace. This high speed spiral is also a good alternative to side gripper conveyors because they not need to be adjusted for varying product sizes. The Narrow Trak Spirals are especially beneficial for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, personal care market and food product companies.
