This video shows a Ryson Mass Flow Spiral Conveyor transporting cans in mass from the retort up to the mezzanine level at a canning plant. There are seven mass flow spirals in operation in this area – four that lower cans to the retort units, and three that elevate the cans to a conveyor that transports them to the packaging area at a rate of up to 1,600 cans per minute.
The integrator on this project was Arrowhead Conveyor Systems.
Mass Flow Spiral Conveyors can be delivered with 10″, 12”, 16” or 20” wide slats with capacities of up to 2,000 bottles or cans per minute respectively. They are ideal for elevation change in a canning plant and bottling operations. They are also available in powder coated carbon steel, stainless steel and washdown versions.
