Tall Ryson High Capacity Spiral Conveyor

In the shop this week we are finishing a tall high capacity spiral conveyor. The HC 1700-400 (16″ wide slats) is going to a large consumer products manufacturer in Mexico. The spiral will become part of a system where products from 9 different packaging lines are conveyed overhead to an adjacent building. The spiral then declines variable sized packages 28 feet down to floor level at a speed of 200 FPM. From there they go to sortation and palletizing prior to shipping. The integrator on the project is C & A Systems out of Mexico.

The robust high capacity design gives Ryson the ability to go taller – and with more weight, while staying with our proven proprietary modular design. The total weight capacity in the spiral lift at any one time is 3600 lbs. Only one drive motor is required, resulting in substantial savings in energy, controls and system integration. Most models are shipped totally pre-assembled, which will minimize the implementation costs at their destination.

Ryson Spiral for Future Modification

Additional hardware is included with this spiral to change its height and configuration at a later time.

The modular design of the Ryson Spiral Conveyors allow for many aspects of each spiral to be customizable, both at the time of manufacturing and later as a retrofit or repurposing.

On a current project, the modular construction of our vertical lifts allowed a major food manufacturer to order a spiral for an immediate need while being able to anticipate upcoming changes in their packaging line.

The Systems integrator (Brenton Engineering) asked us to build the spiral in our “B” configuration to discharge at 11’-0” and had us manufacture the spiral with an extended center tube for a future change to  a 16’-0” discharge elevation. As an option with all our spirals, Brenton Engineering had us pre-wire the machine, anticipating the future change in elevation of the motor. The spiral included a Ryson stand alone control package.

Ryson Shipping a repurpose spiral

The “repurposing kit” will ship with the spiral conveyor including all the parts necessary to change the elevation and shift from our “B” to our “A” configuration. The ability to re-purpose the spiral on site within 12 months saved their client a considerable amount of time and money. Having the kit on hand allows the customer to perform the change on short notice.

New Ryson High Capacity Mass Flow Spiral Conveyor

Interest in the Ryson Mass Flow Spiral Conveyor is growing in the Latin American bottling industry. That is why Ryson will be exhibiting the new High Capacity Mass Flow Spiral Lift at EXPO PACK in Mexico City in a few weeks.

The Ryson Mass Flow Spirals handle bottles, cans, jars and similar containers. Products are conveyed vertically in a continuous mass flow.

All Ryson Spirals have a small footprint and provide considerable space savings compared to conventional incline conveyors. Read more about Ryson Spirals.

The Expo is June 22-25 at Centro Banamex in Mexico City. Ryson will be in booth 1912.

Ryson Dual Spiral Conveyor

Ryson Dual Track Spiral Conveyor used for multi-level application

Ryson Dual Track Spiral Conveyors are the Ultimate in Space Savings:

Ryson’s innovative modular design allows us to customize and modify the spirals to accommodate your emerging needs. All spirals are made to order, accommodating most requirements relating to the location of the in and out feed tangents.

The two tracks do not have to feed in and out of the spiral at the same elevations, and can be applied very effectively to multi-level order picking modules or similar applications. The outside track serves the first level and the inner track the second level.

Models with dual 8″, 12″, 16″ and 20″ wide slats are currently available.

All configurations of the Ryson Dual Track Spiral Conveyor can operate up or down in a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation and custom configurations are available. Read More about Ryson Dual Track Spiral Conveyors or Download the Dual Track Spotlight.

http://www.ryson.com/art/spiral-above.gifEvery spiral is made to order for your specific needs, so every spiral has it’s own cost. That’s in part why we have a web-based RFQ system in place. The interactive form walks you through the specific requirements of your application, and gathers hight, speed, weight, direction and other information critical to an accurate quote.

We are committed to getting back to you quickly, normally within 24 hours. We know that plans change last minute, and we are committed to respond to your request with accurate information without delay.

Quality and service comes first at Ryson.
Our products are crafted with care in our modern manufacturing plant in Yorktown, Virginia . Ryson Saves more Space than incline Conveyor

Ryson Spirals save more space than conventional incline and decline conveyors.

Ryson Spiral Conveyors have a very small footprint and needs substantially less floor space than conventional incline and decline conveyors. Ryson Vertical Conveying Solutions clearly utilize space more effectively as illustrated in the above comparison. Spirals allow expansion within an existing facility or can reduce the size of a new building.

Ryson Spiral Conveyors also have a smaller footprint than conventional belt spiral lifts which need a much larger diameter to operate.

Ryson Spirals not only save space, they are shipped in one piece, pre-assembled and pre-tested — dramatically reducing the time and expense of installation. Only one drive motor is required, resulting in substantial savings in energy, electrical wiring, controls and system integration.

Ryson Spiral Conveyors and Spiral Lifts have a unique modular design, making them easy to customize and re-configure — even in the field.  This is a great advantage if there is a chance a line will be moved or modified down the road. It is also one of the many reasons Ryson Spiral Conveyors are one of the most sustainable conveyors in the industry.

Repurposing A Ryson Spiral Conveyor

An actual example of how Ryson can reconfigure an existing spiral.

Ryson recently repurposed an existing spiral to accommodate a packaging line change. The work was completed at the customer’s plant over a weekend. This procedure saved the customer production down-time and cost a fraction of what a new spiral would. This repurposing ability of Ryson Spiral Elevators is catching on and we are doing more and more of it. Visit www.ryson.com to find out more reasons Ryson Spiral Conveyors are on top of their game.
