Custom Spiral Options: Every Ryson Spiral is made to order. Each spiral is built to our customers specifications, including infeed height, elevation change and angle of incline, to name a few. We we also offer many more non-standard options.

Ryson Conveyor with Custom Spiral Options

Ryson Spiral with a modified angle of the infeed tangent

This week, we shipped a spiral that had several custom options. Mechanically, this model 1500-400 spiral features a custom infeed angle to better fit into the customers layout.  The spiral is also equipped with the safety prox switches pre-wired to a terminal box. In addition to the chain tension and motor overtorque sensors, optional retro reflective sensors were added at the in and outfeed of  the spiral to detect jams.

When a spiral is installed in the field, prewiring options can save time and money. Custom angles can potentially save even more floorspace and can solve line layout challenges in a tight space.

If you would like more information on custom Spiral options, visit www.ryson.com and request information on our form. You can also read about other custom applications on our weekly blog.

Ryson Custom Engineered Extended Infeed to minimize production layout

Every Ryson Spiral Conveyor is custom built. Infeed and discharge elevations and angle of incline/decline are taken into account when our engineering team starts to design each spiral. Other factors, including load weight and size are also taken into consideration. Our Spiral team works closely with our customers and integrators to ensure a smooth installation and product flow during operation.

Our manufacturing plant recently shipped a stainless steel – hybrid wash-down – spiral conveyor with a custom engineered extended infeed. Our Integrator  – Kaufman Engineered Systems – needed to align the Ryson Spiral Conveyor into their line layout.  We were able to save them the expense of having to utilize a separate short section of powered conveyor to connect to their packer.

This concept also reduces energy consumption and simplifies integration, because the extended section is driven by the spiral’s drive motor. The spiral conveyors will be handling cases of yogurt coming out of a packer at a name brand yogurt facility.

If you have a project that could benefit from the small footprint of a Ryson Spiral Conveyor, you can find out more information at www.ryson.com. If you fill out the get more information form, our sales team with promptly follow up with you.

Every Ryson Spiral Conveyor is Made To Order to Customer Application Requirements

Every Ryson Spiral Conveyor is made to Order.

Every Ryson spiral is made to order to fit your specific application. Variables such as change in elevation, load size and stability, conveying speed, in and out feed angles, throughput volume, weight and orientation requirements are all considered when our proposal team comes up with spiral solutions and pricing.

Ryson has six standard slat widths ranging from 8″ to 26″. The spiral footprint depends on the width of the slat. Slat widths take your product size and or volume requirements into consideration. The angle of incline or decline depends on two major variables – the change in elevation required and the unit stability. Naturally a stable product with a low center of gravity can traverse at a greater angle.

The modular design of the Ryson Spiral Conveyors enables any in-feed and out-feed tangent, allowing you to fit a vertical lift spiral into your line with the smallest possible footprint. Any Ryson Vertical Spiral can be designed to go up or down and can optionally be made reversible. We also work closely with our integrators and offer other options, including special safety considerations, controls, pre-wiring and other options to facilitate integration. All Ryson Spirals are available in powder coated carbon steel (any RAL color), stainless steel, washdown and freezer versions.

Please check out our RFQ form for more information about our spiral conveyors. If you fill in the application specifics, our Ryson proposal team will quickly reply with a spiral recommendation and pricing. You can read more about The Ryson Spiral Conveyors on www.ryson.com.

Ryson Short Vertical Spiral Conveyor Custom Elevation Change

Custom Elevation Change: When most people think of spiral conveyors, they think of vertical elevation changes of 10 to 12 feet. But spiral conveyors are also effective for small elevation changes that cannot be achieved by an incline belt conveyor in the allotted space.

Such was the case for our Integrator,  Pack Air Inc., who is shipping this spiral to be used in a system they are building for a large consumer products company. This Ryson Spiral Conveyor has only one turn with an elevation change of  4 feet. The Ryson proprietary modular design allows our Spiral conveyors to be custom built to your specifications, including speed, direction, in-feed and out-feed elevations and orientation, number of turns and or angle of incline.

If you are wondering if a spiral conveyor will work for your vertical conveying application,  fill out our RFQ form online and we will get back to you with our recommendation within 24 hours.
