Next week, Ryson will be shipping two Wide Trak (WT) spirals model 2200-760 to a leader in home furnishing retail through one of our integrators, Warehouse Solutions Plus, in conjunction with Prime Conveyor, Inc.

These spirals have a elevation change of around 14’ and will be installed at their latest and state of the art Distribution Center of 1.25 Million square feet.  The WT is a perfect fit for this application, because of its ability to convey various size cases as long as 32” and as heavy as 70lbs. The end user also required the facility to utilize high energy efficient solutions.

Ryson Wide Trak Spiral for Warehouse OperationsThe 2200-760 WT spirals have a 30″ wide conveying surface and are in response to our customers’ need to handle bigger loads and reach higher elevations. This model is very attractive in the Warehousing and Distribution Center applications. The WT can reach high elevations up to 50ft and can operate at high speeds up to 200fpm.

These spirals can also be configured to allow the loads to enter or exit the spirals at intermediate elevations, ideal for multi-level warehousing operations. The Ryson Spirals are energy efficient and can help lower the total cost of ownership in many ways.

The Ryson Wide Trak Spiral can add line compatibility in applications where different sized products are conveyed. The Ryson Wide Trak Spiral can add line compatibility in applications where different sized products are conveyed.

A perfect example is this spiral that was recently installed for a frozen pizza manufacturer. The pizzas are presented to our 30” wide slat surface either single file (for the large pies) or two-abreast (for the smaller ones). A simple diverter at the discharge conveyor directs them to the correct exit route, based on which size they are running at the time.

We specified our new Wide Trak model 2200-760 to accept over-wrapped pizzas from the freezer discharge, down nine feet to the packaging line. We see a great deal of applications where there’s a need to decline from a spiral freezer.

This Wide Trak was built in our hybrid stainless steel version. The spiral runs between 150 and 200 FPM and has an optional inside guide rail.

Stainless Steel Wide Trak Spiral to Operate in Wet EnvironmentThis spiral is the stainless steel version of our new Wide Trak model 2200-760. It features a 30” wide slat surface and stainless steel bearings, which allows it to operate in a wet environment.

The spiral is a incline conveyor, elevating frozen wrapped pizzas from a spiral freezer discharge at 3’-0” up to mezzanine packaging operation at a 12′ – 0″. The pizzas run single file or two abreast at rates up to 120 per minute. The Ryson Wide Trak Spiral models feature either a 30” or 36” wide conveying surface. This model spiral is perfect for this kind of freezer application.

The spiral will be shipped partially disassembled so that the largest sections can fit through passageways and under the newly installed drop ceiling in the installation area. The spiral will be re-assembled on site by one of our experienced service technicians, along with the on-site installers.

The Ryson Wide Trak Spirals with Induction Conveyor options are getting attention at distribution centers. The wide trak spiral boasts our widest slat width and can reach elevations up to 50′. It is ideal for a multi-tiered order picking modules or warehouses.

Wide Trak Spirals With Induction Conveyor

This week we are building two (2) identical Wide Trak Spirals with induction conveyors that will be shipped to a major footwear designer and distributor on the west coast for our Integrator Partner, Honeywell Intelligrated.

The spiral model 2200-760 is elevating open cases 18’. Both the spirals will be supplied by two different production lines , with one at the ground level and a second one at an elevation of 13’ feet. This intermediate elevation will utilize our new induction conveyors.

The new induction conveyor powered roller design is individually adjustable to match the spiral pitch, assuring a safe and reliable product transfer. The spirals will run at 200 feet per minute.

The Ryson Wide Trak Spiral Conveyors are perfect for such an application due to the size of the products,  the largest being 32″x24″x30″ along with their high capacity and throughput capabilities.

The 30″ wide conveying surface is ideal for larger items as well as boxes/totes of varying sizes, which is common order fulfillment operations. The induction conveyor configuration allows loads to enter the spiral at intermediate elevations, allowing for example load entry at all levels of a mezzanine into a single spiral. This ability drastically reduces the footprint needed for vertical conveying.
