Vertical Spiral Conveyor Ideal for a Pick Module

C-EX-Spiral-Layout

In a recent blog, we highlighted the Ryson Spiral Conveyor’s ability to extend the infeed and/or outfeed section to adapt in tight layouts. For typical warehouse applications where there are multi-level storage and picking operations, we have developed a standard configuration, called the C–EX. On this spiral, we take our standard “C” configuration (incline or decline) and extend the lower part, so that it matches the centerline of the discharge above.

This gives the integrator the ability to line up the spiral conveyor to go from one level to the next without designing in additional driven conveyors. These extensions are powered from the spiral’s one and only drive motor, saving energy and implementation costs. When going from level 2 to level 3 with this C-EX model, we design and build extended leg platforms to mount the spiral on.

Watch the video below to see an example of how a 4-level pick module used three Ryson C-EX models for efficient product flow.
